The black-handled ritual knife is the witch's most iconic tool and her most misunderstood — she is never used to physically cut anything. Her only job is to direct energy: tracing the circle, channeling will outward through the blade's tip. Some traditions assign her to air instead of fire; both readings are old, and neither is wrong.
